My 12 year old daughter gets them about once a month. Each month I take her to the nail shop to get it removed. Sometimes it is on the left big toe and sometimes the right.
Any ideas?

my nail person sometimes cuts the nail too short
then I have to keep pulling the skin away from the nail

When they are cut you need to make sure they are really straight and get passed the end of her toe, some people just are unlucky and a simple visit to the hospital could get them sorted for good.

I had it myself and they can just reduce the width of the nail slightly which keeps it from happening again but be aware it is kinda painful when they inject the anaesthetic.

    Hope that helps!

they ether get cut to short or not strait

    i suffered from that

her skin is probably still very soft, and as the nail is hard, it goes through the soft skin, as the skin hasn’t had time to become hard yet

to help stop that, you can roll up a little cotton wool and put a little germoline on it, (anesthetic cream) and wedge it in between the nail and skin

    hope it helps

Ingrowing toe nails can be hereditary, my son ended up having to have the nail bed removed to stop it growing back on one foot so far the other is fine,
