Standard first aid should cover for infants and children as well. Check with your class before taking it to make sure.

What a great decision you are making, too many parents neglect to do this…… look into just a basic first aid course and while there speak to them of your concerns and they may have more readily imformation avalible on other courses……
I have done all my first aid courses right through to paramedic training because i voluteer part time as a surf life guard, its essential that we take these courses….. I dont get to do it to much anymore because i never have the time but i am retiring in the next few years and i will still only be 35 yo when this happens then i plan to spend plenty of time volunteering.

you should look for an infant and child cpr + first aid course — I did not take a course myself, when I was pregnant, but it was because I was a lifeguard and know all of that inside and out. my hospital offered those though, as just a standard cpr/first aid/heimlich course. I would have taken one if I didn’t already know it. definitely look into the cpr thing too — I’ve never had to use it but it’s nice knowing that I would know what to do just in case.

Definitely take the First Aid course, and make sure you are taught proper infant CPR. This will teach you what steps to take if the baby were to choke or stop breathing.
