My new employer requires a drug test, but I’m on ibuprofen 800 for my tennis elbow pain, is it ok?

I don’t know what kind of drug test they will be performing, but I’m on ibuprofen 800 for my tennis elbow pain. Would the drug test test for ibuprofen? Can I ask the employer what kind of test they are testing? Thanks.

ibuprofen isnt an addictive drug and isnt usually on a drug screen. some ibuprofen has codiene in it usually thinks like nuerofen plus and codien shows up as a narcotic. just tell them what drugs u use regularly and it wont matter anyway.

I think they are looking for illegal drugs not pain killers. It should be fine!

If you have a prescription you’re fine. Worst case scenario is they will ask to see your prescription/bottle.

Just tell them that you take Ibuprofen for aches and pains. Don’t tell them tennis elbow. They are worried about cocaine, alcohol, etc. Sometimes nicotine from smoking, but that is rare.
Don’t eat anything with poppy seeds in it, because I heard that can make you turn up a false positive for cocaine.

I wouldn’t ask them anything, just tell whoever is taking your blood or hair folicle that you are taking the Ibuprofen for a little arm pain. You’ll be fine. Good luck to you sir.

Ibuprofen is not something people look for. It is a over the counter pain reliever. NSAID.Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Like Aspirin or Tylenol.

You should be fine. However, ibuprofen has been shown on some screens to present as a false positive for PCP so you should report that you are taking the medication.
