Is US hegemony an eventuality due to European political impotence that has taken place over the past 50 years?
Category: Impotence
To make myself clear Im taking several countries out of the equation who have proved to still have some backbone and merit. Chiefly noted The United Kingdom and to some extent France.

Yes and no. We, more than any, just crushed flat much of Europe in WW II. We were the only large, industrial Euro-culture coming out of that war in decent shape. We took off then while Europe was still cleaning up rubble.
The Russians got up on their crippled legs and shoved everything they had left as far west as they could. Then they set up a pair of fences with a lot of mines in between so they could keep it.
It took Europe a half century to heal and build back up to take their economic place again. Now they are starting to pump up their military again, just in time for the next world war the remaining overpopulators are forcing. Europe also did that until the last half century. That’s why it’s constant warring has stopped. They no longer needed to kill their neighbors for the land and resources the coming hordes in the next few generations needed to survive.
The hordes from the remaining overpopulators are now flooding in on them and us again. They have brought back the depressions by undercutting wages and they will bring back the wars to feed their hungry, even larger hordes to come.

Europe was broken after WW2, and because of our eventual embrace of socialist afterwords, we never fully recovered from it, so you people to take over the duty of championing the free world.

In my opinion the European Bloc is coming together nicely (except the UK). The USA has made it’s shot at hegemony and it is coming unstuck as they fail to win the wars of occupation.
The next step will be the American/British attempt at getting a lock on the nuclear fuel cycle but other developed nations are starting to develop their own facilities.
So no, USA hegemony is not going to be established.

I disagree that there is European political impotence. If anything, the hegemony would be a trans-atlantic union *involving* European countries. But to say there would be absolute hegemony will never happen as you have a couple giants like China and India. Of course, I’m sure there are efforts underway to undermine the Chinese economy but you have to remember that they manipulate their currency too… so it probably sort of offsets.

Doubtful, the US is in a spiral going down due to our current admin. and policies passed recently.
France has backbone? When did that happen?

No, because our present policy is to join them in their impotence.
