Is a circular strokes or a long uni directional straight stroke is recommended for a better shine?
Because I have heard that the shining of the shoes has to be done with straight strokes in a single direction. Especially the wax polish, if the strokes are reversed it does not spread uniformly and it gets clustered and the shine is not achieved. Is this technically correct. Let me know

I have always heard that you need to apply the polish in small circular motions.
The reason being is you are trying to fill up the tiny pores and rough surface of the leather in order to make it shine – so by moving your dauber or whatever with the polish on it in circular motions – you will be filling in those imperfections from all sides.
However – when buffing the shoe – after the polish is on, then you go in long straight strokes to maximize shine and removed the least amount of was polish that you just took so much care in putting on!
I hope that helps.
