I’m having my ingrown toenails removed in a few weeks, what should I expect?

Both my big toenails on both sides are being removed due to them being ingrown. I know they are supposed to numb my toes before they do the procedure, but what else do they do and what should I bring (music, book), and recovery time? Thanks soo much!
They aren’t pulling the entire nail out! Just a small sliver on both sides of each toenail. This will get rid of the ingrown nail part.

Yes, the toe is numb, then the nail is pulled out. You don’t feel anything and it takes just a few minutes, maybe 10.

Don’t expect much, honestly. Normally, they’ll spray some really cold stuff on it, which will numb you, then they apply another anesthetic, and then they do what they do. I suggest you just turn your head. You shouldn’t feel much.

i have had it done 2 times and about to have it done again. What my dr does
he injects numbing medicine in ur toe about 10 times and makes sure it is numb.
then he will cut along the edge of the area ingrown and cut all the way to the skin (at the bottom of ur toe) and puts some stuff inside the area that is open to kill the roots so that area of the toe wont grow back and be ingrown anymore

Ok i have had this procedure the first thing they do is they numb your toe with a shot this only hurts for a little bit once thats done you cant feel anything whixch is really nice. Once they give you the shot they let the numbing medicine get into your system and then they come in get the tools they need and they cut your nail its very easy. I had it two times and the first time it didnt work for me but when they cut it really short and put this stuff on the nail bed so the part the was ingrown wouldnt come back instead of just the edges it came back alot bettetr. I am happily cured from ingrown toenails. believe me your thinking about the shot but it isnothing compared to the pain you feel trying to get the nail out yourself.. I hopwe you enjoy your days inrown free heheheh. You will be fine. The procedure only takes like 15 minutes very quick you will get int ehere and before you know it your out. Also some cases they take your whole nail out depending how severe your ingrown toenail is what they did with mine which was very infected was they just cut it to the middle anhd let it grow out itself and i have no more ingrown toenail. Dont be scared some people on this post m,ake it seem worse then it is. make sure to take care of it after wards so you dont have to get it done two times.
