Chinese can be too much. Try Thai or Vietnamese and if you can find it… real Japanese food (ie.. not sushi)
Korean is good too.

Avoid broccoli if you get gas. It’s still not “healthy” but it isn’t BAD for you. It just has a lot of oil and carbs. Try it!

Chinese take out is high in fat and calories, that is why I don’t eat it.

Sounds to me you might be allergic to MSG. Most Chinese/Asian restaurants use this in their cooking. Find a restaurant that can make your dish without the MSG–most will. Eat a little of it and see how you feel.

Just don’t eat it every night. ONe of the most healthy chinese food is Noodles with chicken. They give you some delicious soup with noodles and some chicken. Tasty! Or just tell them not to put MSG.

Chinese food isn’t that healthy. I’m Chinese. Chinese food is cooked in a bath of oil! Can’t u tell it’s oily by looking at it? Pretty gross looking… but delicious.

Chinese food can be quite healthy, but just like most other things in life, in moderation. Is it possible that when you eat chinese food that you tend to over eat? Especially given that you enjoy it so much?
You should also stay away from MSG. Many places in my area do not use it any more and those that do will often prepare your food without it on request.

Well I don’t know but it sure is tasty!

Some places use 100% vegetable oil, which I’ve always had good luck with.
No MSG is also a good thing to find in a chinese food restaurant/take out place.
I’d be prepared for it to sit sort of heavily after you eat it, but every so often it really hits the spot, and is a nice treat if you don’t usually get it all that often – wouldn’t think that it’s “unhealthy” though, and if you get it from a good place, I doubt you’ll have problems (unless chinese food just plain doesn’t agree with your stomach, then that’s different!).

It’s healthy for homemade, not restaurant made. Restaurant’s food are too Americanized, and too much grease. If you like it a lot, go online print out a recipe and try to cook it yourself. You can get all the ingredient in an Asian grocery store or international food section at the supermarket (it often more expensive but convenient). If you eat out, like others have mentioned: no MSG and request less greasy. Good luck.

Chinese food not healthy? It’s like me saying that I have ulcers from eating Western food. C’mon..it all depends on the establishment where you buy/order your food. You should take a look around, see it’s fit, clean & inspected by the health department. And if some should say “oh it’s the MSG,” then, you know what, just ask the people at the restaurant not to put MSG in your food or ask if they use it.
If anything, I think you just had one bad experience which caused you to have a tummy ach. I mean, if I ate something that didn’t go right with my stomach, I would naturally not eat that again. But one tummy ache should not deter you from trying other dishes or perhaps other restaurants out there. You can’t assume that eating Chinese food will ultimately give you bloating, gas or some other types of stomach aches. All food, if you’re not cautious can very well give you all this – not just Chinese food alone.
And is Chinese food healthy? Yes……..along with many other Asian food.

That’s because you’ve been going to the wrong chinese rest. Usually the chinese take out restaurants have americanized their flavor (i.e.: put more salt, grease and msg). If you want to taste the real chinese food, look for a place w/ more asian crowds bec it’s usually more authentic and you rarely see general tso, beef broccoli and sweet sour chicken on the menu.

No matter what type of food, it all depends on how you make it and what your making!!! NOT ONLY CHINESE FOOD!!! It also depends on where your ordering the food from or eating at what restaurant. Many restaurant makes it oily and stuff but there are a few that have lovely healthy dishes. Chinese people have many wonderful healthy dishes to try out. It’s not totally bad, just find the best restaurant out there, not your local chinese small takeout restaurants.

Chinese food cooked at home is very healthy. Chinese food you get in a restaurant is not. Restaurants use tons of oil and msg. I would advise either picking up a cookbook and trying to make some of your own dishes, or finding a Chinese friend who will cook for you if you’re sensitive to large amounts of oil.
