I had pyloric stenosis as a baby as an adult my stomach always hurts?
Ok before you say you need to see a doctor I have already seen a doctor numerous times and they say nothing is wrong. I had hypertrophic pyloric stenosis as a baby and had sugury to remove the what they call “olive” from my intestine. I am now 24 and have the most horriable pain you could imagine in my upper stomach. It feels like a combination of servere hunger and being punched in the stomach. The area where the insision was made is slighty hard Im assuming due to scar tissue but when I mentioned having the tissue removed the doctor didnt think it was nessasary. It got so bad one time I didnt eat or drink anything for 2 months and threw up daily and was hospitalized for severe dehydration but they kept saying my surgury as a child had nothing to do with it. I feel quiet pissed that Im having to ask this question on yahoo because doctors are supposed to know what the hell they are doing but I just thought I would give it a shot and see what you guys think. So what the hell could be going on?? Could I have hernia? Surely the doctors would have noticed.
I had scans, unltra sounds ect. and I have my baby medical records. But yeah your probally right Need to look for a doctor who will take me serious.
Well guys I found out I have Chron’s Disease. But with restricted food choices I should be able to keep the stomach pains under control.

Did any doctors actually look at your stomach, with an MRI or CT scan or ultrasound or other imaging test? (I don’t know which test would be appropriate). If not, I would probably insist on such a test. But I would also get started with mega doses of probiotics. The probiotics will improve your overall health even if they don’t stop the pain. And they might stop the pain also.
I recommend VSL#3 because it is the strongest brand I know of. http://www.vsl3.com The VSL#3 pills look cheaper, but the VSL#3 packets are actually cheaper based on their strength. You’ll need the flavored if you plan to mix it with water, and either the unflavored or flavored if you plan to mix it with yogurt or some other cold food. It takes a long time to get a healthy bowel, so plan on taking the probiotics for many months at least.

You need to find a health care professional who will take you seriously. Two months of stomach illness that has nothing to do with something you were born with and does not seem to have been properly addressed is ridiculous.
See if you can get your surgical records even though it was a while ago. Your pediatric surgeon or the hospital should have them. There may be something in there to help you.
You should ask your mother if she was given a drug while she was pregnant with you, Bendectin, for morning sickness. It was known to cause this birth defect. Knowing that may help lead to what else may be wrong with you.
The probiotics may help your digestion and your absorption, but you need to find out why you have so much pain.

Doctor’s are not God and hardly know everything. They were trained a specific way and many of them do not have enough experience to diagnose you. Keep going to different doctor’s until you find one that can help.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You are in charge of your health, not your doctor!
