If you were diagnosed by a doctor, he or she can give you a prescription for oral or topical meds to help with the itching. There are also antiviral meds that can shorten the duration of the condition.

    Here is my experiance:

I first thought something was wrong when i noticed the herald patch on my under arm, about a week later I noticed all the spots appearing and began to worry!! I got diagnosed with this 2 days after the spots appeared and quickly looked it up on the internet to see what i could do to speed up the process as the doctor was not helpful and told me it would get worse and to sit it out and wait. After reading up on this site, i have done all i can to help get rid of the spots. Firstly i have been using sunbeds, and although its not good good in general I do have a sunbed in my house which has been a godsend since being diagnosed, I believe this to have dried out most of the spots. After going on the sunbed I jump straight in the shower and was in head and shoulders which i read on this site, I dont know if this has definitely helped and it has dried out my skin even more but its worth a shot I also read on this site that taking acyclovir helps alot so I went back to my doctor straight after reading about it and have been put on a 7 day course taking 5 tablets a day, after taking these i have seen a notable differece. I believe that finding out what I had early has helped immensely in stopping this as I was able to do things to help which has stopped the rash worsening!! I wont lie, I do still have the spots but they have mainly all dried out, especially the ones on my torso. The herald patch is also very much dried out and very scaly.

    Hope this helps :)

OMG I am dealing with this right now!! Ok I really wanted to share my story with anyone dealing with this now so I chose you!! Lol so I noticed this patch about 3 weeks ago and I mistook it for ringworm.. and that wasn’t it! So I went to the doctor on Monday and my doctor diagnosed me with Pityriasis Rosea. And he gave me a prescription called Prednisone… it has helped soooo much. And also, take lukewarm baths and showers, and moisturize moisturize MOISTURIZE!! I use Lubriderm.. and I cannot stress enough how much this has helped me.. it is already fading, and my skin is already returning back to it’s normal state… I take the pill twice a day.. one in the morning and one at night, and I drown my infected skin in Lubriderm.. the lotion is a little pricey but TOTALLY worth it! I pray you get better.. please talk to your doctor about this, it is really working for me and it’s only the 3rd day I have been doing this :)
