6 but older school grading of murmurs are 1-5

Depends on the vet and where he went to school. Most vets will use a 1-5 or 1-6 scale. 1 being the least severe with 5 or 6 the most. So that other know what scale is being used the murmer is usually written I/V or I/VI (1/5 or 1/6) for example. Many vets also use Roman numerals.
