How likely is it to get skin cancer from occasionally rationed out tanning?

Category: Skin Cancer

I’m naturally on the light side, but I’d like to maintain a light tan complexion. I’m planning on booking occasional tanning sessions until I achieve my desired color and only returning maybe once or twice a month to maintain color. Is once a month tanning likely to make me develop skin cancer? I’m not going to go all ‘super dark’ ‘spent the summer in miami’ crazy, I just want a touch of color to me, is the possibility of skin cancer still highly likely?

ONE session on a sunbed is too much and it only takes one time to get burnt to increase your chances of skin cancer considerably. You will also age 30% faster, you may not mind that now but when you’re 25 you’ll look 30.

Yes. Even if you don’t use it like 3 times a week its still harmful. The more times you go tanning or to a tanning bed the more likely you are to get skin cancer, wrinkles(when you are older) and sun spots. Instead you should use a fake tanner. You can get them in various shades. Of if you have enough money for a tanning bed you should go get that spray tan done. Not the one in the booth but the one where an actual person does it. Its much safer.

Try reading Cosmo’s Oct 2009 issue where Megan Fox is the cover…the story has something to do with bed tanning and relation to skin cancer…

I’m warning you though it literally scared me and now I’m going to see my doctor tomorrow just to be on the safe side

tanning beds are not the best thing for you but there are a lot of dangers out there and we can’t avoid them all. Natural is always better though. Get out in the sun once in awhile for a natural sun kissed look. I use a tanning lotion called booty butter and it is amazing. Best part is that it is all natural and that it soaks into your skin instead of sitting on top. You can also use any SPF you want with it to block out the really harmful rays.
