the overgrowth of H pylori is the cause peptic ulcers and not stress or spicy foods or bad eating habits.

Helicobacter pylori is now known to be the main causitive agent of peptic ulcers. this was a big deal really and the guys that discovereed this were given the nobel prize for medicine in 2005, it was also the first bacteria to be linked with colon cancer
