Stretching and strengthening exercises work well, but you might want to work on them and take a few days off from your normal rehearsal.

You can find good strength exercises on the web.

ok kiddo, I got several things for you. If you are a girl between 12 and 17 believe it or not your hormones could have something to do with it. But, I have a suspection that you may have a problem with your feet. Take yourself off to a podiatrist, one who is certified to do surgery and get an x-ray. It sounds like maybe an insert in your shoes may help align your feet properly. If the ligaments in your feet or ankles need support it pulls all the ligament from toes to knees out of whack and BINGO, shin splints!
This is the most common cause for them. really!
If you have no allergy to medicines, you can try two Advil, a cool shower, stretch out, then a warm bath, then ice your ankles for 30 min. I danced for 30 years and this is not a joke, it helps.
Most importantly, have your mom talk to the doctor and your dance teacher. Your teacher may have the name of a good foot Dr. for you.
I understand how painful those are and I hope this will help you. I know it Will, but remember nothing is going to work overnight, and it may take a while to find the right combination of things that will work just for you! Best of Luck!

Get a mint cooling massage lotion and massage that in twice a day for about 20 minutes eachtime until they are gone.

If all else fails, you may need sorbothane orthotics, which might even require a trip to the podiatrist.
