How can chlamydia spread back and forth from gf to bf when they already have the disease??

I have read that chlamydia is passed from gf to bf everytime they have sex even tho they already have chlamydia from the first time they had sex. Can someone please explain what this means? How can it be getting passed bk and forth when they have already got it.
that sorta makes sense lol, but when i have heard ppl say or write ‘if you keep having sex you will pass it bk and forth’ It did not make any sense, i thought they may have meant that both partners are increasing the harmfulness of the disease by topping it up or something lol. It’s just common sense to both get checked up and sorted at the same time who is stupid enuff to get treated themselves then sleep with an untreated partner. lol

The disease can clear up on its own eventually. But say it clears up in one partner quicker than in the other…The partner who’s still infected could re-infect the other and the disease can just keep getting passed back and forth this way. That’s why it’s important to get tested and get treated.
Edited to add: It “CAN” clear up on its own, it’s possible, usually if the person is taking antibiotics for something else that happens to affect the STD. It just doesn’t happen often. It’s important to give every possible scenario. I did mention the importance of testing and treatment.

You should both receive treatment to clear up the infection. If you do not, then you will pass it back and forth.

I think you may be getting confused. Once both partners have it they will need to have it treated at the same time. otherwise the untreated person will re-infect the other.

Chlamydia is one of the most common STD’s – and because more than 50% who have chlamydia have no symptoms at all – chlamydia infection usually goes untreated.
Your sexual partner or partners also need treatment even though they may not have signs or symptoms. Otherwise, the infection can be passed back and forth. It’s possible to be reinfected with chlamydia.
Please see the web pages for more details on Chlamydia.

chlamydia does not clear up on its own u both need to go get treatment and follow treatment guidelines other wise it will get worse and you will keep passing it back and forth
