Hodgkins Disease?? Hair loss?

Category: Hodgkin's Disease

So I’m wondering if I have Hodgkin’s and have to get chemo, will my hair fall out? I’ve heard of some people having cancer and having chemo but their hair not falling out.
Does anyone know?

Thanks! =)

Chemotherapy attacks cells that are rapidly growing / reproducing. If your hair has been cut recently and is growing out again, then chances are your hair will fall out, because the cells are reproducing again, and the chemo will go after it. But if your hair is grown out and has not been cut in a while, the chances of you losing your hair are lessened.

Your hair may thin and shed some whether or not it has been cut recently. It depends on what kind of chemo you would be getting.

    Take care!!! :)

I have Lymphoma and I have taken 4 rounds of three different chemo drugs and I still have my hair . It has gotten thinner but I still have my hair . Some chemo drugs make you go bald and some of them just make the hair thinner but it all growws back. Don’t do in major cuts yet. I did and wish I didn’t. Best of luck with you and you will do fine and I will pray for you

Traditionally, the treatment for Hodgkin’s disease includes both vincristine and adriamycin, both of which cause complete (or nearly complete) hair loss.
