This cookbook is not only inventive, but tasteful and easy to understand. It has helped me so much in being able to cook healthy enjoyable meals, not only for my husband(who has gout) but for my entire family. I recomend it to anyone and everyone.

Geez, I ordered this as a birthday present for my father, and when it arrived I was just absolutely stunned that I had paid $18 for this tiny cheap recipe book. I understand that it’s specialty recipes and all, but good lord, how about real binding and some color pictures? I’m ashamed to give it as a gift, but since I have no use for it I guess I’ll give it to him anyway. I really feel like the author is ripping people off by charging full hardback price for a flimsy little spiral bound tiny black and white no pic recipe book.

I bought this to help me better understand how to cook for someone with Gout outbreaks. I found it useful in that sense, however if I followed the recipe exactly, I find them a little bland. My family likes a little more flavor so I have adjusted the spices to our family liking and also to the research i have done to find spices that are good for helping the kidneys and liver “filter” themselves.

I have a friend who has gout. This was a Christmas present for her. She is enjoying trying the recipes. She had no idea there were books like this since she is 82 and computer illiterate.
