Do skin fungal infections ever really die. or do they go away for a while and then come back?
Category: Tinea / Fungal Infections
I had a gross purple-looking fungus on my thigh years ago, but the doctors were able to get rid of it. Now I have a rash that looks like the fungus did when it was new- could it be the same fungus? can they just hide under your skin, biding their time till they want to come out again?

A good way to fight fungus is to stop eating things that are full of sugar. Fungus organisms feed on sugars. Another thing you can do is get a bottle of acidophilus capsules or tablets at a health food store, or Walmart, and take them as directed on the bottle. The acidophilus organisms tend to kill fungus. Another thing is to put some anti-fungal cream on that area, you can buy this at drugstores or Walmart. I would do all three things at once if I were you.

They can come back if you expose them to the fungus again. Use a strong anti-fungal cream and use it for the entire prescribed period.

You may need anti fungal tablets, this kills the fungus so it wont come back(the same one)but you can easily catch it from somewhere else.
