Can anyone please PLEASE help me? I went to the doctor’s yesterday and diagnosed my rash as pityriasis rosea. He told me to apply anti-itch cream onto the rash and to take benyrdal at night. He said that it could last any where from 4-12 weeks!!!! So far the rash is mainly on my arms and I have been wearing long sleeve shirts, but it seems to be spreading…ON MY FACE. It looks awful. I’ve had the herald or “mother patch” for about 2 weeks, and the rash has started about 4 days ago, any guess as to how much longer i’ll have this rash? Or is there a way to shorten the duration of this…. Click Here to Read More

Hello, I would like to ask a question here as I am currently living in the Caribbean where the health system and doctors are not very reliable most of the time. About 2 weeks ago I discovered a red, itchy, round spot on my upper back. It is right on a tattoo, so I couldn’t see it very well, but it was slightly swollen with a higher edge. Several days later I got some small red spots all over my back, chest, sides, bikini zone and legs. They looked like mosquito bites or pimples, some of them are itching. I went to the doctor, who told me it was Pityriasis Rosea, when I asked him if it could…. Click Here to Read More

I’m about 99% sure I have this. I’m not one of those people who has a chronic issue with self-diagnosis. But, I got this spot a few weeks ago, and thought it was eczema. Once it started spreading, I started looking through all of the skin issues known to man, and found Pityriasis Rosea which, to the T, looks like what I have. I read that it poses a threat in pregnancy, especially when developed in the first 15 weeks (which it was) and can lead to miscarriage, late fetal loss, muscle weakness (post-birth) low birth weight, and premature birth. I can’t get to a dermatologist for a few weeks…. Click Here to Read More

My little brother has ALOT of these ringworms around his body…well they look like ringworms excpet they each have a scab in the middle of it. They’re on his arms, legs, and thighs, his face is breaking out too! We havent went to the doctor yet because he says they dont itch they’re just scabbed up. He never experienced any bleeding he just has scabs with a ring of bumps around them. Pityriasis rosea is similar to this but it starts off with this giant patch of ringworm which he doesnt have and pityriasis rosea doesnt have scabs on none of the little areas around his body. I dont know if its…. Click Here to Read More

I just got diagnosed with eczema and pityriasis rosea. The doctor said that my skin is so sensitive that with some of my allergies i have breakouts. Like i noticed with generic brand of olay ribbons body wash makes my pityriasis very bad and very itchy. So i was thinking about going all hypoallergenic. Aveeno kind of things? like lotions and soaps and detergents that are dye and perfume free. Did that help anybody who had the same thing? or would i just be wasting money. Or what other things did you guys try other than aveeno that helped….. Click Here to Read More

I have been diagnosed last week with Pityriasis Rosea (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pityriasis-rosea/DS00720). I got the ”herald” patch 2-3 weeks ago on my chest then a little while later, I got the rash on most of my body (mostly on the torso and up) Then this week, the itchiness of the rash ceased but now some patches of dry skin on my chest stomach, and back is a grey-ish purple (my doctor told me that it is normal) and the rash on my face is gone but the skin is very very dry. I have been taking Aveeno Oatmeal baths 2-3 times a day, a pill from my doctor to help relieve the…. Click Here to Read More
