My daughter starts kindergarten on Monday, and my hair stylist told me to put her hair up in a pony tail and spray it with hair spray, and that will deter lice. I have also heard that tea tree oil shampoo or a few drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo will help prevent lice. My daughter cought head lice I guess from some kids at school and we were wondering if there is anything we may have at home to get rid of them. We tried rubbing alcohol but it didnt work. we also heard karosine but she doesnt want to use that. I swear I have done EVERYTHING to get rid of lice in my 8 year old daughters hair. We have cut it shoulder length. I’ve tried all over the counter lice shampoos, combed out nits with the special comb, mayonaise, washed bedding, locked up stuff animals, bought new hair brushes, sprayed furniture and car with over the counter lice spray and her hair is clean from eggs/nits for like 2 weeks and then she gets them right back.
