Question for those moms who have given birth: Going into labour?

I am 38 weeks pregnant and my baby is not showing any signs of leaving – which is totally fine! I have done the labour/birth classes, talked to my Doctor and the nurses and of course read the books on labour – so I am covered there What I am specifically wondering about is: For those women who have given birth- did you have ANY signs at all leading UP TO labour? In the days and the weeks leading up to that day? Or did it just spring on you suddenly? I would love to hear about your details/stories. Thank…. Click Here to Read More

Stretch mark removal cream

Has a someone you know ever had a labour/birth that has put you off having that kind of medication for life?

My cousin had her little boy on Weds, she opted for the Epidural, which slowed her labour dramatically and her little man got very distressed, they had to do an emergency c-section. They got her on the table and started to cut, her epidural was wearing off, she screamed the hospital down because she felt them cutting. They knocked her out with a general anesthetic after that. I no matter what am determined to not get an epidural with my other births, If i have to end up having to have an emergency c-section it will be a spinal block for me lol. I had a natural birth with my daughter,…. Click Here to Read More

Scared of Labour/Birth…Please Help!?

I am 16 weeks pregnant with #1 and fear birth. This is only because I have a very low pain tolerance, as my period pains are excruciatingly painful. I went to my friend’s birth (I wasn’t in the delivery room but the door was open so I heard everything – screaming and all). Apparently the epidural only worked on one side of her body. But she never has period cramps at all, so she doesn’t know the pain I went through every single month. She keeps scaring me and telling me, “Good Luck” sarcastically. She makes me nervous about birth. I plan on taking Lamaze classes to learning breathing…. Click Here to Read More

Labour, birth plans, family involvement, hubby/partner – how will you handle it all?

Hello there all! I’m getting induced in around 5 and 1/2 weeks (at 38 weeks pregnant) so talk of Birth Plans etc came up at our last antenatal class. As I’m getting induced, our family will be aware of the exact time and day etc we go in and one worry of mine is that we’re pretty sure that Mum will try and be involved in the entire birthing process, from when I enter the hospital, until when I give birth. This is both our parents first Grandchild. I LOVE my mother to death and she has a heart of gold, but Hubby and I want the labour to be a process between the two of us. Mum also made…. My dog is heavily pregnant could anyone give me some advice as to what I can expect during labour and birth.?

I have a mini foxie and she is expecting her first litter of pups, could anyone give me some advice on labour and birth and what to do during the birth as I have not been through this before and am a little worried should complications arise. Is there anything that could go wrong? I would like to thank puppy dog kisses for their very informative notes. It is great to know someone out there really cares and isn’t out to subject their uninformed opinions on the rest of the world. In case the people who responded negatively didn’t notice, I posted this question to educate myself and I beleive…. Click Here to Read More
