I do not want to take the eye drops the Ophthalmologist prescribed. First of all it’s too expensive. Even the co-pay is $100.00 a month. I can’t afford it. And second of all I want to avoid the dark pigmentation around the eyelids that’s caused due to the drops. This reason by the way is the least of all my concerns. Hi, I am an 18 year old asian female who has a grandmother with glaucoma. Just recently (April) I had a “Red eye infection”, and went to the optometrist right away. They said that my intraocular pressure was way higher than normal and gave me some drops. When I looked up the side effects for red eye I found out that glaucoma can be the cause of it.
