Is there medical evidence showing the presence of a small foreign object pressing against vein in the calf could cause a blood clot in the deep vein the calf. Best answer: Answer by NIf the foreign body is in the vein it may cause inflammation and lead to clotting. If the object is outside the vessel and is causing significant compression and inflammation a clot may form however I have never heard of such a scenario.
