Can my 11 week baby girl develop pyloric stenosis now?
My baby was born at 36 weeks and currently she is 11 weeks 1 day old. Last few days she has been vomitting at least once per day. She is 100 % formula fed (similac advance powder). Her appetite has not increased and she hardly takes 2-3 ounces every 3 hours, first 2 months she gained weight too and currently she is 10 pounds. She pees fine and has one poop per day sometimes after 1 and 1/2 day.
She used to just spit up as she has acid reflux and she is on zantac now. But from last week she is vomitting at least once per day.
Can baby develope pyloric stenosis at 11/12 weeks? So far she has gained weight and pees and poops fine but can she develope pyloric stenosis now due to her puking/vomitting episode?
We are taking her to ped on Monday as he has no openings for this week ?
Also she does not appear tired/dehydrated but looks puny as she is 36 weeker.
My only concern is can baby develop pyloric stenosis at 11 weeks as she is puking at least once per day?
I am asian by birth so is my husband and we have no history of pyloric stenosis in our family that I know.

No she can’t. It is something babies are born with if they’re going to have it. If she had it, she would be projectile vomiting every feed. You would know if she had that because she wouldn’t be able to keep anything down and would be dehydrated from not getting enough nutrients. It is pretty normal for babies to spit up once or twice a day.

Yes, a lot of babies start showing signs of pyloric stenosis between 2-3 months actually. I’ve asked my baby’s pediatrician because we are watching my son for that. His dad, grandfather, great grandfather, etc all had it but so far my son is 6 weeks old and no sign of the problem. Good luck!
