For some reason Nizorol, which I’ve used for years now, stopped working. I knew the other medicated shampoos hadn’t worked that well in the past (T-Sal, Head & Shoulders, Selsun Blue, among others), plus I didn’t care for their medicine smell. So I decided to give Beta Sal a try, and I’m glad I did!

The first thing I noticed is that it has almost no scent and looks like normal shampoo–no weird glow-in-the-dark colors. If this were in a different bottle no one would know it’s medicated. The second thing I noticed is that it doesn’t lather all that well, so I had to use more than usual. But then it’s considerably cheaper than Nizorol, too, and comes in a bigger bottle.

After the first time using it, my dandruff was about 80% cleared up, and after the second time about 95%. After that it cleared up completely. I will definitely buy this product again.

I would not normally write a review for a product like this, but after a lot of research I just had to let others know that I finally found some relief! I unfortunately suffer from Seborrhoeic dermatitis. I use this shampoo every two to three days in combination with Head and Shoulders severe dandruff shampoo. Washing my hair EVERY day with one or the the other has virtually removed all the flakiness and made my scalp feel great with my hair very light and easy to manage. I would highly recommend this product.

After I moved into my new apartment in March, I started having very bad dandruff. I could shake my hands through my hair for 10 minutes straight, and it would look like it was snowing. It was very embarrassing for me, because I love to wear black, and most of my clothes are very dark. In addition to the unsightly flakes, my scalp had begun to itch, and these problems persisted for at least a few months, only seeming to get worse. I’d never seen my hair like that before, so I came to Amazon.com looking for some heavy duty help, and sure enough, I found it.

In addition to taking care of my dandruff problem, Beta Sal Medicated Shampoo, in combination with a cheap conditioner, left my hair feeling extremely soft and with extra body. I don’t know if normal shampoos had been accumulating residues in my hair or what, but this stuff stripped it down–and not in a way that felt damaging. It felt healthy.

The bottles last quite a while, too. I’ve been using it several times a week for a couple months now, and I still have almost 1/2 of the first bottle left.

I’m only giving this 4 stars because I like to reserve 5 star reviews for products that make me go “WOW!” but this shampoo will certainly not disappoint you, at least not if dandruff is your problem. I would have boosted it up to 5 if it was scented instead of smelling like medication, but that would really just be icing on an already delectable cake. Combine this with your favorite conditioner, and pride in your hair will quickly follow.

This is an excellent product recommended for my husband by his dermatologist. The shampoo was being sold as “16-ounce bottles (pack of 2).” The invoice included with shipment says, “This shipment completes your order (1 of 1).” The shipping box had space for 2 bottles, but extra space was filled with packing material instead of second bottle. I notified Amazon and was sent(and charged for)the correct order. Was told not to return lst order. On Nov. 18, 2008, I am told that I have 10 days to return the 1st item or my credit card will be charged for cost of 1st item. The shampoo from the 1st order has been opened and used. It is correct to charge for the 1st order, but the charge should only be for ONE bottle at the sale price since only one bottle (not 2) of 1st order was received.
