17 month old Aspirating Reflux on a gastric emptying scan?

My 17 month old had a gastric emptying scan done a few days ago. They had us come back the next day to do another picture of his chest to see if he was aspirating. When they did the first day, the screen was black, except for the white dots of radioactive material in a cluster, and then slowly going downward as the food he ate passed. When we went back for the second day, I wasn’t expecting to see anything. But I saw a lot of floating white dots. It was a tech doing the picture, so they can’t say anything, and I haven’t heard from his PGI yet.
Is there any reason that the radioactive material might show on the chest scan other then he is aspirating? He has reflux that we treat with Zantac, but it is silent reflux. He doesn’t spit up ever, no coughing, doesn’t really arch his back, and he is a big boy, so no weight lose or FTT. What are the chances he would have silent reflux AND silent aspiration?
Like I said, I have a call into his Dr, I just have to wait for her to review the stuff and get back to me. But until then my mind is raising thinking about what else those white spots could be!

Wait for the final report. If it says there is activity in the chest, there are a couple of possibilities : Aspiration (which you mentioned, fundoplication works for that) or T-E fistula, which should have shown up sooner. Wait for the report, wait for the doc’s recommendations, see what might work, and it will work out.
